It began with a scientist who wasn’t satisfied with “good enough”

Our work has always been guided by a clinical mindset and a drive to develop real solutions for patients in need.

The story behind our hydrogels began in 2018, when our CTO, Anni Mörö, PhD, then part of Tampere University’s Eye Regeneration Group, recognized that existing hydrogels did not meet the requirements for clinical compatibility while providing the right environment for delicate human stem cells to mature into functional tissue.

What began as a bioink for research continued to demonstrate its potential across corneal, neural and other stem cell models. Over time, it became clear that the technology could offer much more than a single research bioink.

It was evolving into a platform for tissue engineering, biofabrication and regenerative medicine.

Glue4Life was born.

As Glue4Life demonstrated its potential across multiple tissue applications, it became clear that the technology had evolved into a significant commercial opportunity.

LifeGlue Technologies Oy was spun out of Tampere University in December 2024 with a clear mission: to move biofabrication from the laboratory toward clinical reality.

Where we are today

Today, a growing portfolio of Glue4Life hydrogels supports a range of tissue engineering and biofabrication applications, from neural constructs and vascularized tissue models to corneal applications.
